NO MORE CHAINS IN CHURCH STREET CAMPAIGN INCORPORATING BOYCOTT NANDO'S

Welcome to the website.

Our pledge states we do not want or need a corporate chain restaurant like Nando's in Stoke Newington Church Street.

We will boycott the proposed Nando's restaurant on Stoke Newington Church Street.

We fully support and encourage the independent and local nature of Church Street.

The online pledge is now available, please take a minute to sign it and join over twelve hundred residents and businesses who have already signed up to our paper/online pledge.
Also, if you wish, you can physically sign the pledge at six local shops on Church Street:
The Tea Rooms, Olive Loves Alfie, Casino, Lemon Monkey,Camia Deli and The Cobbled Yard.

This campaign was started with only one main reason in mind.
The preservation of those traders in Church Street that are local and independently run.

They cover the full spectrum of the local community including a diverse array of cafes and restaurants from Italian, Thai, Indian, Mexican, French, Turkish Cypriot and English to a hardware store, vacuum cleaner repair shop, TV/Electronics, Hairdressers, Barbers, Dry Cleaners, Optometrists, Jewellers, Lingerie, Adult and Children’s Clothes, Furniture, Kids Toys and Accessories, Florists, Bookshops, Bakers, Grocers, Artist Workshops, Coffee and Sandwich Bars, Delicatessens, Newsagents, and a Charity Shop amongst many others.

Although diverse, they all have one thing in common.
They are all run as local and independent businesses.
Over the past weeks, I have been talking to and receiving hundreds of signatories to our campaign from local residents and businesses alike.
Those signatories cover the complete spectrum of our community too in age, race, class or sex.

Play an active role in this campaign and help keep Church Street unique and distinctive. Volunteers always welcome.
Thanks again to everyone for your support
